Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Half Legs.

Most clients enjoy smooth results for three to six weeks, depending on hair growth cycle and skin. Regular waxing often extends intervals as hairs grow back finer, reducing frequency and keeping legs smooth longer than shaving.

Discomfort varies, but technicians use expert technique and soothing products to minimize pain. Exfoliating beforehand, staying hydrated, and breathing steadily during service help. Topical numbing can be discussed if you’re especially sensitive.

For effective waxing hair should be approximately a quarter inch (6–8 mm) long so wax can adhere. If shorter, you may need to wait for growth; if longer, we’ll trim excess for comfort and best results.

Shaving between waxes removes hair at the skin’s surface and won’t harm future waxing results, but it reduces how long smoothness lasts. Whenever possible, avoid shaving to preserve wax benefits and maintain longer intervals between appointments.

Avoid hot baths, saunas, heavy exercise, and tight clothing for 24 hours. Gently exfoliate after 48 hours and apply fragrance-free moisturizer to soothe skin. Regular exfoliation and moisturization reduce ingrown hairs and keep skin healthy.

Active sunburn, open wounds, certain rashes, severe varicose veins, or recent topical retinoid use may mean we postpone waxing. Share medical history and medications when booking so our technicians can recommend safe timing or alternative hair removal options.
